Spectacular Costa Rica

A number of individuals will not know where Costa Rica is if you ask them but this is not because they haven't been there but because they cannot think of anything else when they visit the place. Costa Rica is located in Central America and it is full of beaches that all flow into a major ocean not to mention a well known sea. It is bordered by Panama to the southeast and Nicaragua to the north.

With the word "rich" in its name, Costa Rica is an economically established part of Central America. In Costa Rica, tourism has shot up tremendously and for their government, having programs that safeguard their natural resources is really amazing. This is a place that has gotten the top spot in the Happy Planet Index.

Here is where the appeal of the country does not only come from the place itself but also from the people living there. As nighttime draws nearer and nearer, funky music from restaurants and bars fill the streets. More and more people are booking trips to this part of Central America and this is mainly because the location has plenty to offer to its visitors.

One of the most famous things that this location is known for is the row of world class beaches. The Dominical Beach located in the southern part of the country is clearly one of the biggest and most well-known surfing destinations in the country. For those who want to experience a different kind of nightlife, this is one of the places that provide excellent entertainment as well.

For those who party until the wee hours of the morning, there is a place for you in the country and it goes by the name Jacò Beach. The entire town of Jacò is known by locals and expats as the “party beach city”. Aside from relaxing under the sun, you can go for a swim, surf, shop, and dine in the different restaurants that can be found in Jacò.

For nature lovers, the ideal destination in the Costa Rican country is Playa Grande. This tranquil white-sand beach offers a peace and oneness with nature for the tired tourist, seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Playa Grande is also enjoyed by leatherback sea turtles as they regular come here to enjoy their favorite nesting spot.

For the more adventurous traveler, hitting the beach is only the next best thing to rafting. Rafting is very popular here since this country has the most number of rivers per square kilometer than any other countries in the world. Turrialba and Sarapiqui River are two of the popular rafting areas in the country and there is another location called Toro River which is also pretty sick.

When you travel to this country, do consider fishing. Aside from the sand and surf, you can also dive out when you are here. These activities are only the water related ones mind you.

Apart from mountains, you can also go on volcano routes when you decided to join a biking group for a day trip. If possible, you can go through one of the dirt paths leading to the Turrialba Volcano foothills. Another bikers’ favorite is around Lake Arenal.

The activities are endless when it comes to the great Central American country that is Costa Rica. Here is where a week is simply not enough. The thing about flying into Costa Rica is that there are tons of direct flights offered by major airlines across the globe.
